All lesson prices are listed at a rate per lesson. Tuition for the month is due at the first lesson of the month. Cash, check, and Venmo payments are accepted. If the student requests that I teach at their home, I charge a $3 travel fee per lesson in addition to the usual per-lesson amount.
20-minute lessons (ages 3-4 only) $15
30-minute lessons (recommended for beginner students) $20
45-minute lessons (recommended for intermediate students) $30
60-minute lessons (recommended for advanced students) $40
Parent involvement is a main element of the Suzuki Method and of my studio. It can make a huge difference in the success and progress of the student. I expect a parent or grandparent who will be involved in practicing to be present at every private lesson for students age 10 and under.
Practicing at home is a necessary ingredient in learning to master proper string technique and repertoire. It is expected that students will record all practicing on provided practice charts. It is required to practice at least 5 days a week. Length of practice sessions may vary, but I recommend practicing the length of lesson times daily (for example, if you have a weekly 30 minutes lesson, practice 30 minutes each day).
Missed Lessons and Rescheduling
Students are responsible for their weekly time slot. If you expect to be late, please let me know and come to as much of the lesson as you can. I will reserve your entire time slot for you. No-shows still count as a lesson and are charged as such. Planned absences should be scheduled with me before the start of the month when tuition is due. For extreme emergencies, make-up lessons will try to be scheduled, but may not always be possible. In the case that I have an emergency come up, I will let you know as soon as possible and will schedule a make-up lesson. If a make-up lesson cannot be scheduled, a credit will be given to the next month's tuition. If you need to reschedule a lesson time, please check on the Lesson Schedule page of the website to find a student slot that you can switch with.
Recitals are held 2 or 3 times per year. Recital dates will be sent out as soon as they are scheduled and can always be checked on the Upcoming Events page of the website. Students are required to attend each recital they play in and should arrive 15 minutes early to tune and set up. Students must be dressed in appropriate recital attire, meaning no jeans, shorts, or flip flops.
Required Lesson Materials
Students are responsible to purchase their own books, instruments, and other materials. Students should bring their books, instrument, shoulder rest, and rosin to each lesson.
